A chick by any other name

So my wife and I put our selves to the task of naming all of our chicks. We tried with the first batch but it was hard. Some of those were being grown for the purpose of eating them and so we couldn’t name them anything too touchy feely or serious - since we would be killing them and then eating them as Chicken and Dumplings. Hence one of the them was named Dumpling. Others were Lima Bean, Little Jerry Seinfeld, Mashed Potatoes…but we didn’t get to naming them all because we generally couldn’t tell them apart.

The new batch however is a different story. Since they are an assortment of rare breeds we could tell most of them apart rather easily. Enjoy as you get to see them up to date, just taken tonight shots with names of all of our rare chickens. All of the pictures are bad and taken in my office chair but they’ll do. Dahlia is both mine and my wife’s favorite. It’s not too easy to tell in this pic but she’s got more of a Mohawk than an Afro like the others of her breed.
