So today, honestly kind of expecting it, I wander over to our neighbor vultures’ hideout and found some of the creepiest baby animals I’ve ever seen - black vulture chicks. I went to check on them today after the chicks and Ronnie wouldn’t follow me near there - I figured there must have been a reason. As I got close I could hear some rustling and there was a strange smell. I poked my head over the old stall where I found the vulture last time and a vulture jumped through the window like it did last time. When I looked down I saw these little guys.
I had to run back to get my camera, when I came back the babies started this really odd hiss click sound. It was really creepy. Then I got a better look at them on my camera and realized they are really creepy looking also. Their leathery looking heads were really unexpected. I know the younger one we found in our yard around Christmas last year had a downy head.
Where the nest is found - looks so neat with the foliage growing up around it.
