A while ago, I wondered if Aster was Latino or Italian, making a reference to her being either Araucana (a South American breed) or Sicilian Buttercup. It turns out, I was completely wrong. With some help from the people over at the Backyard Chicken Forums, I found that Aster is actually a Golden Campine.
This describes the questions I had about the comb (it hadn’t started coming in as the buttercup comb so famous in Buttercups). She had tail feathers which meant she couldn’t be the Araucana which is rumpless. The golden campine is a perfect fit. They look remarkably like buttercups except the comb. Thanks to the peeps at BYC.
They aren’t kidding around, by the way, when they say that Golden Campines are active. Aster is running around constantly.

I think that Dahlia is startled by all the action!
They are active little guys, aren’t they?
I love your chickens, maybe I’ll buy some soon, or later or sooner then later or later then soon or never or maybe later.
